The Ecodesign regulation (SLR) and Energy Labelling Regulation (ELR) will be implemented from 1st September 2021 for EU countries and 1st October 2021 for the UK.  Both have the goal of further expanding the lighting industry’s lead in sustainability by delivering significant energy savings for lighting products and systems.

EU & UK subsidies for sustainable lighting

The European Green Deal has a very ambitious goal: to reach carbon neutrality by 2050. In order to help achieve that goal, the EU and governments are funding renovation and new lighting projects that use energy efficient LED and connected solutions. Download our whitepaper to find out how you or your customers can benefit.

The UK also has a resilience and recovery plan - The Ten Point Plan for a Green Industrial Revolution - which lays out a broad roadmap towards this goal and in particular its financing.  In its Spring Budget 2021, the UK government announced two new capital allowances to encourage business investment and stimulate economic growth. Under the scheme, companies investing in ‘plant and machinery’ – such as lighting systems – could qualify for a limited-time tax saving.  Download our Capital Allowances leaflet to learn how you or your customers can benefit.
