D4i certification from DiiA awarded to Philips Xitanium Sensor Ready Outdoor LED drivers

Industry body issues D4i accreditation as it looks to drive standardization in market and fuel wider adoption of connectivity for Smart Cities projects.

Eindhoven, the NetherlandsSignify (Euronext: LIGHT), the world leader in lighting, today announces that its Philips Xitanium Sensor Ready Outdoor LED drivers have been granted the new D4i certification. The landmark certification program is launched by the Digital Illumination Interface Alliance (DiiA), the global industry organization for DALI lighting control. It is designed to deliver standardization in the market, drive the wider adoption of IoT connectivity in street lighting and aid Smart Cities projects.

The certification was launched by DiiA in November 2019. The specifications and requirements for meeting the new standard cover critical features including mechanical fit, digital communication, data reporting and power requirements. Qualification of this certification demonstrates plug-and-play interoperability of luminaires, sensors and communication nodes. Products approved by the program will enable smart, future-proof LED luminaires with IoT connectivity.

Philips Xitanium Sensor Ready Outdoor LED drivers are among the first products to be granted this new accreditation and all verified products will now carry the certification logo. The D4i certification is currently only available for outdoor LED luminaires but similar verifications for indoor solutions are also in development.

David Vanbeselaere, Product Management Leader LED Modules, Signify, commented, “We are delighted to announce the D4i certification of our LED drivers today. Signify has been a front-runner in driving standardization for connected lighting, and this is now embodied in the new accreditation. Open standards will help customers choose the system that works best for them and will help promote this exciting connected technology in the market. This will enable the next big step in energy savings and Smart Cities projects. A certification from a leading industry body like DiiA provides clarity and confidence in a crowded industry."
