Success Stories

The Philips Service tag app has been developed to make LED luminaire maintenance operations faster and easier.

This new innovation from Philips Lighting has already been tested and proven its value. Read more and find out about the first pilot case for this QR code application.

Bourg-en-Bresse, France

The first pilot of the Philips Service tag

After engaging in a big LED project throughout town with more than 900,000 light points to maintain, Bourg-en-Bresse found the maintenance of LED lighting a big challenge.

As Christophe Mourgues, Head of Public and Traffic Lights, Bourg-en-Bresse, France explains, “As conventional light sources are disappearing, the switch to LED technology is inevitable. But there are some challenges”.

The value and potential of the technology have already been recognized and utilized. The high quality of light, the option to re-program the light - even long after installation, and a significant reduction in energy costs are just a few of the benefits. It’s also a fact that maintenance of LED luminaires is far more complex than conventional alternatives.

A unique innovation, Philips Service tag is providing a solution to this challenge. It has also been serving as a knowledge database, supporting installers in their daily operations. During the pilot, all possible use cases were tested by the installers from Bourg-en-Bresse town. Since then, the application has been getting positive feedback and has really proven its value.

“The greatest value of the Philips Service tag is,” says Mourgues, “that it enables us to save precious time and avoid human errors. Installers are waiting for the launch and are eager to start using the app in their daily tasks.”
