What quality process guarantees the consistency of the colour appearance of LEDs?

LEDs are standardized for consistency in colour and performance through a process called binning and classified further in MacAdam steps. During the manufacturing process LEDs are allocated to specific 'bin' numbers based on tests conducted to determine their colour, lumen output and forward voltage. LEDs from each bin are further classified in a 7-step MacAdam ellipse.
