The Great Hall, Lambeth Palace

London, United Kingdom

The commissioning trust required the grand mahogany ceiling to be illuminated indirectly via a lighting solution positioned discreetly on the numerous bookcases. These lamps would also provide sufficient output that the floor would be adequately well lit.

ELG began by creating a full 3D CAD rendering of the Great Hall; this gave the design team the ability to lay out potential lighting schemes remotely, allowing the Library to continue functioning undisturbed. Taking appropriate virtual lux measurements guaranteed the commissioners would be satisfied with the resulting light output, and ensured the mahogany roof would be properly lit, while not casting unsightly shadows into the intricacies of its fabulous detailing.

Croda Chemicals

Wigan, United Kingdom

Croda chemicals in Wigan specialise in creating compounds for the beauty industry and approached Philips in 2015 to discuss a multi stage upgrade of there lighting systems to energy saving LEDs. The initial stage was to upgrade the external illumination in the main traffic areas as the current lighting system was failing and was not acheiving a safe lighting level anymore. Representatives from Philips & ELG visited site and surveyed these areas. ELG completed the lighting design and Philips sunmitted a quote for the specified products. Installation is ongoing.

Costa Coffee

Nationwide, UK

The majority of Costa Coffee’s locations featured approximately 60 halogen track lights, each burning 70 watts of power. Costa spent months searching for an LED solution that would maintain their established look and feel – a search that had proven fruitless. ELG’s design team created a bespoke track light fitting, working within the strict guidelines established by Costa’s design team. With zero visible screws and a black anodised aluminium chassis, the body of the solution elegantly fit into Costa’s aesthetic, while the triple track adaptor will allow establishments to tailor the lighting setup to their individual specifications.
