Lamp Modules are made up of two main elements: the lamp (or bulb) and the cage (or housing) including electrical connector.
UHP Lamps – are effectively ultra high-performance bulbs developed by the world leader in lighting technology working in close cooperation with the projector & rear projection television manufacturers.
Cages – are housings designed and produced to accurately seat the lamp and enable safe and easy user replacement (each physically different projector model usually requires its own bespoke cage design).
Original Lamps - are those manufactured by the original lamp developer holding the technology patent (e.g. UHP™ from Philips) and originally installed in OEM projectors. The Product Safety Data Sheet (PSDS) (PDF, 76 kB) refers to general product characteristics of UHP lamps in relation to product safety and basic environmental aspects that have to be taken into account when using UHP lamps in your projection applications.
Genuine Lamps - are lamps that offer the same standards of performance and reliability to their original counterparts as in OEM installed base.
Genuine Lamp Modules – are original or genuine lamps fitted in replica or original cages.
